Two Texas A&M assistant coaches were suspended on Friday, in the aftermath of a disastrous event put on for female fans. Offensive line coach Jim Turner and tight ends coach Jeff Banks have been suspended for two weeks without pay as a result of adapted team fight song lyrics and statements made during the presentation.

You might remember the name Jim Turner from his time as the offensive line coach with the Miami Dolphins. He was a central figure in the Wells Report on the bullying situation involving Jonathan Martin and Richie Incognito. Turner’s name came up 90 times in that report, including pressuring Martin to come out and defend Incognito, and giving a gift to one player who was teased as being gay, by giving him a male blow-up doll.

So what were some of the things that took place in the presentation to female fans? Here is coach Kevin Sumlin’s response:

"“There is absolutely no place in our program or in our University community for inappropriate conduct or degrading comments towards women, or anyone, regardless of intent,” Sumlin said in a statement. The fifth-year A&M coach also apologized for the comments and for not reviewing the individual presentations slide about women “filled with estrogen” and innuendo blocking tips such as “bang him hard” and “spread them again.”"

In addition, they displayed a revised Texas A&M fight song for women:

It’s hard to take Sumlin’s statement seriously when Jim Turner had the past that he did.
