Do Not Get Your Head Wet at the Olympics

The Olympics are days away and everything still sounds awful in Rio. Especially the water which is full of viruses. 90-percent full according to a study by the Associated Press. Via the AP:

"“That’s a very, very, very high percentage,” said Dr. Valerie Harwood, Chair of the Department of Integrative Biology at the University of South Florida. “Seeing that level of human pathogenic virus is pretty much unheard of in surface waters in the U.S. You would never, ever see these levels because we treat our waste water. You just would not see this.”"

Harwood summed it up by simply saying, “Don’t put your head under water.” That certainly sounds like a good time at the beach. At this point, you can assume that anyone venturing into the Rio water is doing so on behalf of Jimmy Kimmel. Even that might take a great effort because it’s not easy to access the water. Maybe that’s for the best. Just live by Gremlins’ rules if you’re planning to attend the 2016 Olympics.
