Arian Foster only signed with the Miami Dolphins a few weeks ago, but the 29-year-old running back appears to have found a home atop the team’s depth chart.

Reports of Foster’s performance during training camp have been glowing and the team seems confident the four-time Pro Bowler will be the three-down back it covets.

Dolphins offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen claims the franchise needs a go-to guy, and wants to avoid a “running back by committee” approach:

"“We really need someone to emerge as the guy. … We don’t want to substitute. … We really need one guy to be a three-down back, stay in there for that drive.”"

Foster will turn 30 later this month and missed most of the 2015 season after tearing his right Achilles tendon. That’s why he came at such a bargain, only garnering a one-year, $1.5 million contract. If he moves into a starting role he’d likely be the NFL’s biggest bargain.

Potential competition for the starting spot could come from second-year pro Jay Ajayi, who is currently rehabbing a knee injury. Foster has every chance to win Miami’s RB1 spot, and it appears he’s taking advantage of it. Adjust your fantasy football drafts accordingly.
