Jim Furyk, who is 46-years-old, shot the lowest score ever shot on the PGA Tour on Sunday at the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut. He is one of only six players to shoot 59 in a PGA Tour event, but on Sunday, he broke that record with a 58.

After a brutal lip out on the 15th, this putt on the par-3 16th hole got Furyk to -12 on the par 70 course.

Furyk’s approach shot into the 18th green left him with a 26’9″ foot putt for a 57, which would have been the first 57 ever recorded in professional golf history.

That birdie putt did not fall, but Furyk finished with a par and set the PGA Tour record at 58.

Goodness that’s some good golf.

Furyk, who is the first player to shoot in the 50s twice on the PGA Tour, joins Stephan Jaeger, who shot a 58 just two weeks ago, as the only players to ever shoot 58 on either the PGA Tour, Web.com Tour, European Tour, or Champions Tour.
