Ryan Lochte, Jimmy Feigen, Gunnar Bentz and Jack Conger allegedly caused some damage at a Rio gas station the morning they claimed to have been robbed at gunpoint. Ossian Shine, the Reuters Global Sports Editor, provided new details about the incident (which was at least partially caught on tape) on Twitter. Lochte and company allegedly broke a bathroom door among other things at the gas station and security demanded they pay for the damage.

Based on the translation from this Globo story, it sounds like the swimmers were urinating, but not in the bathroom. They were either denied the use of the bathroom, or refused to use it. Via the Google translated page:

We have to wait for video to see to what extend the “fight” with the security guard was actually a fight.

Meanwhile, a spokesman in Rio – It’s not specified if this is an American spokesman – basically chalked the incident up to “boys will be boys.” Via Reuters:

"‘Let’s give these kids a break – sometimes you take actions that you later regret. They had fun, they made a mistake, life goes on.’"

Ryan Lochte is 32, Feingen is 26, Conger is 21 and Bentz is 20.
