Conor McGregor Wins 5th Round Decision Over Nate Diaz, There Will Be a 3rd Fight

Conor McGregor won a 5-round decision over Nate Diaz in an epic fight at UFC 202 that ensured the two will do battle one more time in the near future for an even bigger payday. The fighters were expected to each take in over $2 million from UFC 202, with McGregor’s pursue perhaps tripling that figure.

The judges had it nearly even: 48-47 McGregor, 47-47, 47-47 and 48-47 McGregor.

 

McGregor dominated the first round, but couldn’t finish Diaz, who stormed back in the second, absorbing punches like he was born to eat them.

Diaz nearly finished McGregor in the 3rd round, but UFC’s biggest star was saved by the bell. McGregor took control in the 4th round, with Diaz’s face covered in blood, as if he were wearing a crimson mask.

McGregor gutted out the 5th round to complete the classic, with the two hugging at the the end of match to the delight of the Vegas audience.
