The Tampa Bay Buccaneers raised eyebrows around the league when they used a second-round pick on kicker Roberto Aguayo. So far, that unconventional move is not paying dividends.

The Florida State product is 3-for-5 on field goals during the preseason — and has also missed an extra point. The molehill of inaccuracy is being made into a mountain. Aguayo has reached out to a kicking coach and a mental coach outside the organization for help.

And now the fans — or at least half of the ones present for today’s joint practice with the Cleveland Browns are turning against him. He was “showered with boos” after missing three of his six kicks, which will undoubtedly help his confidence.

"After his second miss today, fans not just stood up to boo and heckle Aguayo, a loud Warchant cry erupted. With each miss, the cry grew louder."

Aguayo had to know he was walking into a hornet’s nest in Tampa. Bucs fans will not stand for mediocrity as a 23-57 record since 2011 proves.
