Luke Weaver, the 23-year old rookie pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, made his second career major league start on Tuesday. Weaver struck out 6 and gave up 3 runs as he took credit for his first career decision, a loss to the New York Mets. Weaver is still new to the Cardinals, so he has a lot of learning to do. He has to get used to Randall Grichuck videobombs and dugout rituals, like finger goggles.

This might be the dorkiest a major league baseball player could possibly look. The fact that he’s not on the top step makes it even better. Unless he is standing on the top step and he’s not really his listed 6’2″. He is standing next to three very tall teammates, including 6’6″ Michael Wacha and 6’3″ Matt Carpenter. I mean, they look like dorks too, but Weaver looks like a much younger dork.
