NFL teams have to be at their 53-man roster today, and some veterans are getting released. For those that play fantasy football, the news out of Baltimore is the biggest. The Baltimore Ravens have released Justin Forsett, who made the pro bowl two years ago when he had a career season with over 1,500 yards. He missed the last six games a season ago, and turns 31 this year.

He wasn’t a lock and didn’t look like he would be in anything more than a three-way platoon, but rookie Kenneth Dixon, out of Louisiana Tech, tore his MCL in the week 3 preseason game and is out for at least 4 weeks. For now, it looks like a Terrance West/Javorius Allen platoon in Baltimore, but I would expect Dixon to be in charge if he can get healthy by mid-season.

Meanwhile, the Denver Broncos released Mark Sanchez, who they signed this offseason to potentially start after Brock Osweiler signed in Houston. Sanchez got beat out by Tracy Siemian, and first round pick Paxton Lynch should see the field as well. The Broncos also cut running back Ronnie Hillman.

The most notable name may be one that wasn’t released: Colin Kaepernick is still on the San Francisco roster after final cuts.
