Andy Janovich is a fullback in the NFL. There are few jobs more superfluous in the sports world, but on Thursday night, the Denver Broncos rookie had a moment in the sun.

On his first NFL carry, Janovich took an inside hand-off and trucked his way for a 28-yard touchdown with 12:16 left in the first half.

That score tied things with the Carolina Panthers at 7-7 in the NFL’s opening game of the season.

Here’s hoping Janovich and fullbacks across the league start seeing more carries. There’s few things more fun than watching lead blockers finally score some points.

Clearly the Broncos cheerleaders are just as excited about a fullback touchdown as I am. NBC noticed and gave us its first gratuitous cheerleader shot of the season.
