NASCAR's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 400" Has the Greatest Sporting Event Name and Trophy Combination Ever

NASCAR will run the inaugural Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 400 at Chicagoland Speedway on Sunday. At least, I think it counts as inaugural. The race has been run every year since 2001, but this is the first time it’s being referred to as the TMNT 400. It was previously the Tropicana 400,
USG Sheetrock 400, LifeLock.com 400, GEICO 400, MyAFibStory.com 400 and finally, in 2015 it was the MyAFibRisk.com 400. It is definitely the first year someone will go home with the coolest and silliest major sporting event trophy, maybe ever.

You have to love the way that corporate sponsorship can remind us just how silly sports really are. Especially when it comes to things like NASCAR races and college football bowl games. I can’t wait to see what this race is called in 2017.
