Last week Davis Love III announced three of his four captains’ picks for the U.S. Ryder Cup team and now we may already know who the fourth and final pick will be. While Love won’t officially make the fourth pick until after the Tour Championship on Sunday, according to the Golf Channel, Bubba Watson was invited to Hazeltine to practice with the team.

According to Tim Rosaforte, Watson was invited by Love to join Rickie Fowler, Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, Jimmy Walker, Phil Mickelson and Brandt Snedeker at the practice.

"Rosaforte said he asked Love if Watson has not been picked because of any issues with his personality. In a 2015 ESPN poll of 103 anonymous Tour pros, Watson was chosen as the player others would be least likely to help in a fight. “He’s quirky, but so is Phil [Mickelson,]” Rosaforte said Love told him. “I told Bubba after the Olympics, remember, there’s a pick after the Tour Championship,” Love said he told Watson. “If he plays well, he’s certainly going to be considered,” Rosaforte said. “He is not as negative an influence as many people wrote and led us to believe over the last couple of days, at least coming from captain Davis Love.”"

It wouldn’t be a big surprise if Watson was the final captain’s pick, and he’s one of the four that I initially believed would make the team along with Fowler, Holmes, and Matt Kuchar.

Watson is currently ranked seventh in the world rankings and ninth in the Ryder Cup points standings.

Bubba will be teeing it up at East Lake at the Tour Championship this week hoping to end his season on a high note.
