Mique Juarez was a five-star, all-everything linebacker who may be the best defensive recruit UCLA has ever landed. Now instead of lighting it up on the field, he’s being blasted by fellow Bruins on Twitter.

He enrolled at UCLA in the spring and was set to start his freshman year this fall. Then he didn’t show up for fall camp and has had “excused” absences for mysterious and undisclosed reasons. While he’s absent, his teammates have struggled to a 2-1 start. They’re clearly not happy that he isn’t around.

Senior defensive lineman Takkarist McKinley fired a shot aimed squarely at Juarez.

McKinley’s tweet is now deleted but UCLA freshman linebacker Lokeni Toailoa agreed with the sentiment:

This isn’t the first time McKinley has tossed a heavy amount of shade in Juarez’s direction. He tweeted the following out after Juarez celebrated a UCLA win:

With a big matchup with Stanford coming up this weekend, Bruins head coach Jim Mora can’t be thrilled there is Twitter drama swamping his team. That’s not a distraction he wants right now.
