Philadelphia Eagles players Ron Brooks, Malcolm Jenkins and Steven Means raised their right fists Monday night during the national anthem at Soldier Field in a demonstration against social injustice. A man holding the giant American flag was simultaneously caught looking at his phone. People have problems with both behaviors.
It’s also worth pointing out that the above photo includes a videographer kneeling and was taken by a photographer — both of whom were doing their jobs during the playing of The Star-Spangled Banner. That could also prove #problematic. The opportunity for outrage across the spectrum abounds. Expect to see this peppered across your feeds with a wide array of commentary.
