Conor McGregor will headline UFC 205 in New York City. McGregor will fight lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez with the title on the line. If McGregor wins, he’ll do what no one else ever has – held the championship at two weight classes at the same time.

McGregor, the UFC featherweight champion, beat Nate Diaz in August (at welterweight). McGregor was pulled off UFC 200 over the summer, probably because of money demands.

UFC 205 will be the first UFC event held in New York since the ban on the sport was lifted earlier this year, so this fight means that the organization’s biggest star finally gets one of the events that was predetermined to be important. Even if it means he’s not defending the 145-pound title that he was definitely going to defend after his latest fight with Diaz. Should be fun.
