The Michigan State vs. Northwestern game had an over/under of 42. The Spartans and Wildcats missed the memo about this being a drab B1G defensive battle.
MSU quarterback Tyler O'Connor hit R.J. for an 86-yard touchdown. Northwestern retorted immediately with Solomon Vault returning a kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown.
Northwestern took a 40-31 lead heading into the 4th quarter.
