Trevor Bauer had his start in the ALCS moved back from Game 2 to Game 3 tonight because he cut his hand on a drone, requiring stitches. Today, he was asked about the circumstances behind the drone injury, which led us to find out that he is a big Star Wars fan. [h/t: Joe Posnanski]

Bauer attributed that geeky interest along with his interest in working with building drones. However, when asked to identify his favorite Star Wars movie, he reminds us that things we watch when we were kids aren’t nearly as good as you might think you remember him. Here was his response:

"My favorite one? I don’t know, “Phantom Menace” probably, just because I think Darth Maul is one of the coolest villains, double-sided lightsaber, and his theme song. I like that one for whatever reason. But I don’t have a least favorite one. They’re all 1A, 1B, stuff like that."

That Bauer was a youngster is his only affirmative defense here. Phantom Menace, of course, introduced us to Jar-Jar Binks. Darth Maul was in like 10 minutes of the movie. And there is defintely a clear worst Star Wars movie, though it wasn’t “The Phantom Menace.” That honor goes to “Attack of the Clones.”
