The Chicago Cubs secured their first National League pennant since 1945 with a 6-4-3 double play. First baseman Anthony Rizzo doesn’t sound like a man who will be giving up that historic baseball. He opened up to Tom Verducci — and the rest of America — about his intimate plans with the prized memorabilia.

“I’m sleeping with this thing tonight,” Rizzo said. “Are you kidding me? We’re going to the World Series.”

Something tells me it will be several hours until Rizzo and the ball retire for the night.
