Brock Osweiler’s return to Denver did not go so well. The former Bronco completed 22 of 41 passes for 131 yards in the 27-9 loss as the Texans offense failed to find the end zone.

After the final whistle, Osweiler went on a hugging spree the likes of which is rarely seen. In the clip above, he shares five embraces with Denver players and staff before hugging what appears to be a cameraman.

Now, let me state that I don’t think this is a big deal. Osweiler has a history with these guys and a loss is a loss, even if the vanquished team rushes into the locker room to break stuff in anger. But not everyone agrees. If you factor in the lackluster quarterbacking, it’s easy to understand why this lovefest might not sit well with some frustrated Texans fans.

It’s been months but many are still surprised Houston made the decision to pay Osweiler $72 million to play quarterback. The early returns haven’t been inspiring. He’s completing 58 percent of his passes and has thrown as many interceptions (8) as touchdowns. In three out of seven games, he’s failed to crack 200 yards passing.

If you see a disgruntled fan online today ripping Osweiler, take his cue. Offer a sincere hug. Everyone loves hugs.
