Smash Mouth and the Oakland Athletics Argued on Twitter

Smash Mouth got into a Twitter fight with the Oakland Athletics during Game 3 of the World Series. It started with whoever was running the Smash Mouth account on Friday calling the A’s a joke because of the way they treated Coco Crisp. The A’s team account, presumably run by a social media intern or some equivalent.

The two human beings, masked by the name of the businesses they work for, traded barbs for about two hours before the person running the A’s account presumably went to bed. @SmashMouth had legitimate concerns about the way the team was being run while @Athletics just kept calling them irrelevant. It was very “I’m not even mad. I actually find this quite funny.” And a little pointlessly mean.

Why were they so mad?
