DeMarcus Cousins scored 30 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in a Kings overtime loss to the Miami Heat on Tuesday. Cousins fouled out with 30-seconds to go. DeMarcus Cousins fouling out is nothing new, but when he was called for an offensive foul on what would have been a go-ahead lay-up with 30 seconds left, it was his 6th of the quarter. That’s rare.

But not unheard of.

It’s actually a shame that Boogie wasn’t the first person to do this. He’s led the league in personal fouls per game five of his six seasons in the league. (He was third in 2012-2013.) It’s hard to imagine anyone fouling like DeMarcus Cousins. It’s only a matter of time before a rule that has to do with fouling is called the DeMarcus Cousins rule. I have no idea what that rule would be, but he will have earned it. He’ll argue that he didn’t, but he totally did.

Cousins also added a technical foul in the 1st quarter. He’s tied for the league lead in technicals with 2. We’ve previously discussed his historic taste for technical fouls.
