The word “hero” is overused so why stop using it for non-heroic acts? San Diego Chargers guard D.J. Fluker got bitten by a bug on his right eye during Sunday’s victory over the Tennessee Titans but soldiered on without missing a play. Being blind in the the eye didn’t stop Fluker from helping his offensive line open up gaping holes for running back Melvin Gordon, who went off for 196 yards on the ground.
D.J. Fluker: won’t be sidelined by a fluke injury. Something very poetic about that.
