Kentucky played their second and final exhibition game on Sunday, beating Asbury University, 156-63. Some quick math will confirm that Kentucky won by 93 points. Not quite as big a victory as Maryland’s women’s team had last week, but that’s still a lot. Asbury is a small liberal arts college about a half-hour outside Lexington with an enrollment of under 2,000.

Kentucky did have a 100-point lead with under a minute left after Mychal Mulder committed this violent crime against an Asbury player still trying to give it all he had for a block.

The final tally was 29 dunks for Kentucky.

The college basketball exhibition season is very strange. Games like these serve as weird pep rallies. And if one of the Asburys of the world ever won, would anyone actually care? I swear a DII or DIII team beat a DI team last week, but can’t find evidence.

The good news is that everyone on the Kentucky team scored. Not that any of Coach Cal’s bench-fillers will be bragging about scoring in this game. Even Rudy got a sack in a real game.

Perhaps Asbury was just there to participate in the Mannequin Challenge.
