Noah Syndergaard and his flowing locks had a great season on the mound. Unfortunately for the New York Mets flamethrower, he was not named a finalist for the National League Cy Young Award on Monday. It’s cool, he took the news in stride on his Twitter account.

Chicago Cubs Kyle Hendricks and Jon Lester are finalists in the National League along with Washington Nationals righty Max Scherzer.

Among National League starters, Syndergaard was third in ERA (2.60), fourth in strikeouts (218) and 11th in WHIP. He also led all MLB pitchers in fWAR (6.5). So yeah, he might have a beef here.

Lester (2.44) and Hendricks (2.13) topped the N.L. in ERA, while Scherzer led the league in wins (20), WHIP (0.97), innings (228.1) and strikeouts (284).

It’s OK Noah, you’ll get there eventually.
