Broncos' Brandon Marshall Receives Racist, Threatening Letter

Brandon Marshall took a knee during the national anthem before his team’s first eight games this season as a protest against social injustice. Whether you agree with his stance or not, what happened to him this week is unacceptable. The Denver Broncos linebacker received a handwritten, two-page letter that threatened his life and included multiple racial epithets.

Marshall posted photos of the letter to his Instagram account on Friday, they are posted below but be warned the language is offensive:

The letter is disgusting and has no place in our society.

Marshall met with Denver’s police chief after his protest and has donated money for every tackle he makes this season to groups that work with youth. He also decided to stand for the anthem starting in November while continuing to work for social change.

Again, regardless of whether you agree with the method of Marshall’s protest, that letter in unacceptable
