Jim Grobe Does Not Seem To Get What Happened At Wake Forest

Wake Forest determined that former assistant coach Tommy Elrod attempted to give opponents game information on multiple occasions since 2014. One instance was the Demon Deacons 2016 loss to Louisville.

The finding is startling. No one appears to be more startled than former Wake Forest head coach Jim Grobe who had Elrod on his staff. Grobe asserted that he did not know of a finer person and suggested Elrod may have inadvertently given up too much information in a phone call.

Grobe further suggested this was not that big of a deal, as Wake Forest had held open practices at their outdoor facility when he was head coach.

Either Grobe really doesn’t “get it.” Or, as in the Shawn Oakman locker room case, he doesn’t want to “get it” and answer substantive questions about it.
