Houston Cougars Mascot Shasta is a Phenomenal Dancer

Houston plays San Diego State this afternoon in the Las Vegas Bowl. It will be the Cougars’ first game since Tom Herman accepted the Texas job and Major Applewhite took the reins. As far as mid-December bowls go, this one has a hook for genuine interest. Allow us to offer another reason to tune in.

Houston’s mascot Shasta may bust out some unbelievable moves on the sidelines, like the ones he displayed at a pep rally Friday night.

Rumor has it that Shasta is not a real cougar but rather a human being in a bulky costume. If true, that just makes the footwork more impressive. The combination of a bulky head and sweaty stench adds to the degree of difficulty.
