Michelle Waterson choked out Paige VanZant in the first round of their UFC fight tonight. Waterson got VanZant down to the ground, and surgically put her in a rear naked chokehold to win her ninth career fight by submission. The referee John McCarthy called the fight.

One of the most marketable performers in UFC, VanZant had won her last fight with a flying kick on Bec Rawlings, and finished second on a recent season of Dancing With the Stars.
