VIDEO: Cam Newton Didn't Draw Flag Getting Hit in Head on Slide, Got Flagged for Taunting

Cam Newton was sliding and got hit by Washington linebacker Trent Murphy. As Newton was getting up, he lightly tossed the ball at Murphy and was promptly flagged for taunting. The 15-yard penalty took the Panthers out of field goal range.

Newton has opined this year that he is subject to different standards when it comes to officiating. There are aspects of him that can be offputting, like when he is overly arrogant or pouty, but in this regard he is absolutely right.

At the very least, this should have been offsetting penalties. This was a major mistake by Walt Coleman and/or his crew.
