Facing fourth and goal from the 2-yard line, Pete Carroll took a gamble and went for it. Wide receiver Paul Richardson rewarded his faith with a miraculous one-handed grab. The catch was so amazing that no one, even Carroll, seemed to understand that a touchdown had been scored. Sometimes the brain shuts down when processing reality would be too jarring.
