Who is the Mystery Sunday Night Football Farter?

Something’s rotten in Sunday Night Football. Here’s what we know. A fart sound could be heard on the broadcast in the middle of a Cris Collinsworth exposition on Derek Carr. And while this you may think this is a big stink about nothing, a possible Phil Simms’ fart presaged his departure from the CBS booth last year.

But what we don’t know here is who is the culprit. Collinsworth’s name has been thrown out there in some circles, but it would be highly unlikely he could belt out that blaster while not changing his speech in anyway mid-sentence and grunting through it. Al Michaels? He’s too much of a veteran to drop that one while a colleague was mid-sentence. Unless someone claims it we may never know. Our best guess is that it was picked up by a hot mic, maybe an undisclosed player letting loose. Regardless, one thing remains timeless, whether you are four or forty. Farts are funny.
