NBA Slam Dunk Contest: Preview, How to Watch Online, Live Stream

The most exciting event of the entire All-Star Weekend takes place on Saturday night, when the NBA’s best high-flyers come together, combine their creativity and athleticism and give us what we know as the Slam Dunk Contest.

Last year’s contest was extremely exciting, with injury replacement Donovan Mitchell coming out of nowhere to earn a shocking title. The Jazz guard announced he wasn’t defending his trophy this year, which opened the field for a new winner. Dennis Smith Jr. of the Knicks had what many considered the best dunk of last year’s contest, and he’s back to prove he can give us more than just one memorable highlight.

Miles Bridges will represent the hometown Hornets in the contest, and given that he has already dunked over many opposing players in his rookie season, we can only imagine what he’ll be able to do without anyone in front of the rim. John Collins of the Hawks represents the big men in the contest, but he’s no ordinary power forward: Collins has freakish athleticism and has also posterized some people this season, and he’s promising some creative stuff for the contest.

The final participant is an injury replacement in Hamidou Diallo of the Thunder. Derrick Jones Jr. of the Heat suffered a scary leg injury earlier this season, so Diallo was invited in his place. Considering an injury replacement won the contest last year and Diallo is a crazy athlete, don’t be surprised if he goes home the winner.

All four of the contestants are young, creative, extremely athletic and have already proved they can give us some crazy highlights, so get ready for a really good night of dunks.
