The UEFA Champions League continues this week with the second legs of the Round of 16, and four more teams will advance to the quarterfinals to join Ajax, Manchester United, FC Porto, and Tottenham Hotspur. One of the games on Tuesday is between Juventus and Atlético Madrid at the Juventus Stadium, and the Italian giants need a perfect night to defeat one of the best defensive teams on Earth.
Juventus vs. Atlético Madrid

Atlético comes into this one with a 2-0 lead from the first leg in Madrid, in what was a classic Atlético performance: they were under pressure for the entire game, but defended extremely well, counted on a masterful night by goalkeeper Jan Oblak, and scored two late goals from their defenders. It’s the type of win coach Diego Simeone dreams of, and it gave them a valuable advantage for the trip to Italy.
But on Tuesday they will face a Juventus team hungry and looking for a memorable European night. These nights are the ones Cristiano Ronaldo loves the most, and despite being stopped by Oblak and the Atlético defense in the first game, he was still effective enough to give Juve fans hope for a miracle comeback. Ronaldo has only one goal in this season’s Champions League, and it’s hard to imagine he won’t add to that tally against Atlético.
If Juventus get an early goal, all bets are off. The pressure will be immense, and the home crowd always brings it for European nights. Atlético will need another giant game from their defense, and the suspension of Diego Costa will put even more responsibility on Antoine Griezmann to deliver whenever the Colchoneros have the ball.
