Cardinals 7, Reds 3: The Cards were 6-7 with runners in scoring position. Pretty good for a team of “little bitches.” Brandon Phillips on the Cardinals.

“I’d play against these guys on one leg,” Phillips told Hal McCoy, a columnist for the Dayton Daily News. “We have to beat these guys. All they do is bitch and moan about everything, all of them. They’re little bitches, all of them. I really hate the Cardinals. Compared to the Cardinals, I love the Chicago Cubs. Let me make this clear: I hate the Cardinals.”

Devil Rays 6, Tigers 3: I swear to God if you read that score and were headed to the comments section to point out that Tampa Bay dropped the “Devil” portion of the name I hate you with every fiber of my being.

Red Sox 2, Yankees 1: Jon Lester didn’t give up any hits through the first few innings so Yankee fans immediately took to Twitter in a pathetic attempt to jinx it. I understand that Twitter has nothing to do with the outcome of a sporting event, but I still find the action of trying to jinx a no-hitter after a pitcher has recorded 9 outs in a pointless regular season game extremely obnoxious. Anyway, somebody from the Red Sox caused somebody else from the Red Sox to score a run. That event repeated itself. The Yankees were not able to accomplish that multiple times.

Astros 10, Braves 4: Jason Heyward hit a home run. Interesting fact – Heyward has more hits, runs and home runs this season than he does in his entire career.

Diamondbacks 7, Brewers 4: Just taking a quick glance at the box score I came to the conclusion that Trevor Hoffman doesn’t have it anymore. I’m no historian, but your closer should be giving up three runs on three hits and two walks in extra innings. Also, CB Bucknor worked home plate last night and he’s the umpire in the picture above. I thought it was time that he get some credit. Mostly because I saw his picture.

Mariners 3, A’s 1: Doug Fister is man you do not want to mess with. Or maybe he is. Who knows. What’s Dallas Barden been up to lately? Anything?

Giants 4, Cubs 3: Carlos Zambrano had one of his best starts of the season (5IP, 4H, 2ER, 7BB), but the Cubs blew it. If I were Zambrano I would have freaked out. Of course, I were Carlos Zambrano I would freak out at every opportunity. This game took 11 innings to complete.
