Giving $30 Million to Albert Pujols Would be Asinine, According to White Sox GM Kenny Williams

"“For the game’s health as a whole, when we’re talking about 30 million dollar players, I think it’s asinine. We have gotten to the point of no return. Something has to happen. And if it means the game being shut down for the sake of bringing sanity to it, to franchises that aren’t going to stop the insanity, I’m all for it.”"

Wasn’t the point of no return reached … when A-Rod signed that insane deal with Texas? What about when Barry Zito got $126 million? While I disagree with Williams on what Pujols is worth … I absolutely love that he’s in favor of a salary cap. “From a competitive standpoint, would love to be on an even playing field with everyone.” He actually used the phrase, “at least we have a fighting chance,” which is accurate, of course.
