It still doesn't seem real that Luka Doncic is a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. In what will forever be considered the most shocking trade in NBA history, the Dallas Mavericks shipped their star player to Los Angeles.

On Wednesday night, Doncic will make his anticipated return to the American Airlines Center. Doncic's return isn't like an ordinary return.

When the news was announced that the team was trading Doncic, the fan base turned on the franchise. Mavericks fans never would have imagined Doncic on another team.

However, that is the sad reality they now live in. Even though fans and the franchise may be at odds currently, the organization is sparing no expense in welcoming back their former star.

Emotions will be running high all night, but it will be emotions of happiness. Every fan in attendance tonight will receive a shirt saying, "Hvala za vse."

In translation: that means "thank you so much." Thank you is putting it mildly. Just last season, Doncic helped lead the franchise to an NBA Finals appearance.

Doncic became the face of the franchise as soon as the greatest player in franchise history, Dirk Nowitzki, decided to retire. Dirk and basically everyone around the franchise dubbed Doncic the new king of the franchise. Tonight, the former king will be looking to tear down the kingdom he once called home.
