Antonio Allen Blocks Punt for TD and the Jets Are Pounding Oakland, 20-3
By Jason McIntyre
The Jets are clobbering the Raiders, 20-3 late in the first half. It’s about damn time, right? After two lackluster performances with the playoffs on the line, New York has pounded Oakland so far with fierce defense – Ed Reed has an interception! – a Geno Smith touchdown pass, and most recently, a blocked punt returned for a touchdown by safety Antonio Allen.
If Allen’s name rings a bell, it’s because he had a pick-six against the Patriots earlier this year, blocked a punt against Atlanta, and recently, he was pushed aside at safety for Reed. Allen, from South Carolina, has had a nice season as a playmaker, but the Jets, for whatever reason, don’t seem impressed.
