Blair Walsh Misses 27-Yard Chip Shot, Seahawks Advance to Play Panthers

After dominating the Seahawks for three quarters, the Vikings found themselves trailing 10-9 with three minutes left in the game. Minnesota had the ball and needed about 35-yards to get in position for kicker Blair Walsh to win the game.
Minnesota QB Teddy Bridgewater did just that, drawing a pass interference flag on Kam Chancellor, and then hitting Kyle Rudolph for a 24-yard gain. Inside the red zone, the Vikings went ultra conservative, but got in position for Walsh – who was 3-for-3 including a 47-yarder earlier – to make a layup.
From 27-yards out … Walsh shanked the kick. The laces were in – they should be out – and it was wide left. From point-blank range. Minnesota was crestfallen.
Seattle got lucky to rally and beat Green Bay in the NFC Championship last year. Then got unlucky on the final play of the Super Bowl. The lucky swung back their way today.
