Blue Jays Closer Casey Janssen Proposed to Girlfriend After Jumping Out of a Plane
By Mike Cardillo
Casey Janssen, the Toronto Blue Jays closer, recently proposed to his girlfriend Lauren Spear in extreme (yet romantic) fashion. The couple went skydiving in Janssen’s native California. On the landing spot Janssen arranged a sign on the ground to read “Lauren Will You Marry Me?”
Spoiler: she said yes.
The National Post provides more details.
"“It was as smooth as it could be,” he said. “Lauren was a minute and a half after me. She landed pretty much right in front of me, and I was on my knee proposing.”"
What is it about American League East pitchers and elaborate marriage proposals? Earlier this month Rays’ pitcher Alex Cobb popped the question with the help of a dolphin, raising the bar for single guys everywhere in the process.
