Boo Weekley Ripped the PGA Tour's Wraparound Season: "Ain’t no time for hunting and fishing"

Boo Weekley doesn’t care for the PGA Tour’s wraparound season. In its third year, the wraparound season can be quite draining on many PGA Tour pros who can’t afford to skip out on the first tournaments of the season because they need the FedExCup points.

"“Honestly, this wraparound season sucks,” Weekley said. “It does, seriously… It’s just, it’s stupid. I still ain’t figured out this FedEx. What does this FedExCup stuff do? It ain’t doing nothing, but it is what it is. It’s supposed to be the players’ tour. It’s Tim Finchem and them’s tour, is what it is.” “It’s aggravating having to play this much, but yet it’s important to come out and try to get a good start,” he said. “I mean, it’s good for the rookies, I think. It gives them something … they get their feet wet before they actually get into the bigger tournaments. I think that’s a good thing.”"

More importantly, the wraparound doesn’t allow for the things in life that Weekley enjoys off of the course, hunting and fishing.

"“It’s just golf after golf after golf,” he said. “Ain’t no time for hunting and fishing, man.”"

The 42-year-old Weekley is playing in the Sanderson Farms Championship in Mississippi this week, but it sounds like he’d rather be somewhere else. After playing in 24 tournaments during the 2014-2015 season, finishing up September 10th at the Deutsche Bank Championship, Weekley is already playing in his third tournament this season, who could blame him for wanting a break?
