California Defensive Lineman Ted Agu Collapsed and Died During a Conditioning Workout

Ted Agu, a football player at the University of California, collapsed and died while running during a conditioning workout this morning, according to the San Jose Mercury News. Agu, who was to be a senior with the California football team next season, played defensive end. Coach Sonny Dykes released a statement on the loss:

“This is a very difficult time for our football family. Ted was a remarkable young man and a member of this family who was highly respected and loved by his teammates and coaching staff. He had an incredible passion for life and will be deeply missed.”
