Clemson Escaped "Clemsoning," Won In Overtime Against N.C. State
By Ty Duffy
N.C. State had the chance to put away Clemson in regulation. But, the Wolfpack missed a 33-yard field goal in the final seconds. That left the game tied at 17-17 at the end of regulation.
Clemson drove for a touchdown in the first overtime. The defense intercepted Ryan Finley’s first pass. The Tigers escaped with a 24-17 win. Clemson fans rushed the field after avoiding a home upset to an unranked team because…it’s Clemson.
The Tigers maintain their unbeaten record at 7-0. Scare in a look ahead spot? Sign that this Clemson team is not invulnerable? Great effort from N.C. State? Perhaps a bit of all three.
