The DeAndre Jordan free agent signing with the Mavericks looks like it has encountered some potential drama. Jordan committed to the Mavericks, walking away from the Clippers, for a reported four-year deal worth $80 million — deals can’t be officially signed until Thursday. Now, according to ESPN’s Marc Stein, it appears Los Angeles brass is lobbying Jordan to change his mind. Stein writes that Doc Rivers is trying to meet with Jordan face-to-face on Wednesday. Marc Spears of Yahoo! tweeted that Blake Griffin previously spoke to Jordan about it.

The ESPN report also includes this nugget:

"Sources told ESPN’s Chris Broussard that Jordan has told people close to him since picking Dallas that he’s still “torn” and “unsure” about his choice."

Of course all of this sounds slightly crazy given the report earlier in the week that Jordan left the Clippers to get away from Chris Paul, in part due to a lack of high-fives doled out by the point guard.

Stranger things have happened, as the Western Conference remains decidedly competitive.

Update: This is really should be fun …
