Daniel Sturridge and Liverpool Can't Stop Scoring Goals vs. Swansea City
By Mike Cardillo
Daniel Sturridge scored his second goal of the day on Sunday vs. Swansea City to put Liverpool ahead 3-2 at halftime of an incident-filled match. Sturridge scored earlier in the match to extend his goal streak in EPL play to eight straight matches. The three first-half goals gives Liverpool 69 on the season — tying Manchester City for first in the Premier League.
Newsflash: Liverpool is very entertaining to watch.
Sturridge is up to 19 goals. Luis Suarez — the provider on Sturridge’s header — leads the way in the English top flight with 23. As many goals as Liverpool is scoring, they can’t afford to get lazy and let Swansea back into the match again if they want to maintain their hold on a Champions League spot for next season.
Liverpool led 2-0 quickly on goals from Sturridge and Jordan Henderson, but Swansea tied it at 2-2 on a Martin Skrtel own-goal.
