David West, the rugged, 35-year old power forward, walked away from $12 million in Indiana last week in order to chase a ring in San Antonio.

West had the choice of San Antonio or Cleveland, and ultimately picked the Spurs, who will only pay him a veteran minimum of $1.4 million.

The move is enormous for the Spurs because it enables San Antonio to play less Tim Duncan, while sliding LaMarcus Aldridge to power forward, where he wants to play. The Spurs have a fairly formidable rotation in the West, one that can go big to match the Grizzlies, or small to match the Warriors.

C – Duncan, West
PF – Aldridge, Diaw
SF – Leonard
SG – Green, Ginobili
PG – Parker, Mills

Have three teams in one conference ever won 60 games? Because the Warriors, Spurs and Thunder could all do it.
