Dear NFL Teams, Stop Trying to Trade For Injured Patriots' Lineman That They're Just Going to Cut

Twice in the last week the New England Patriots traded offensive lineman to other teams. Twice the deal has fallen apart. Twice the Patriots then immediately released the player they tried to trade away.

First it was center Bryant Stork who the Patriots tried to cut after he suffered his fourth concussion in 4 years. Before they could make that official, Washington called and offered a 7th round pick. Stork considered retirement, but decided to go to Washington anyway where he failed the physical and reverted back to the Patriots where he was promptly cut.

Then there was guard Josh Kline who was supposed to be part of a trade to the Eagles for Eric Rowe. Rowe is still coming to New England, but Kline has been removed from the deal. Via NESN:

"Kline underwent offseason shoulder surgery, and he appeared to re-injure his shoulder during the Patriots’ second preseason game. He went on to play in each of the team’s final two exhibition contests, however, and was expected to begin the regular season as New England’s starting right guard."

The Patriots, as teams commonly do when starting offensive linemen are completely healthy, released Kline.

Stop trying to acquire guys the Patriots are clearly trying to dump for health reasons.
