Donte Whitner Dropped an Interception, and Jared Cook Caught It
By Jason McIntyre
When things are not going your way, strange occurrences like this happen: St. Louis QB Sam Bradford made (another) terrible decision, and San Francisco Pro Bowler Donte Whitner was in perfect position to make the interception. The pass hit Whitner in the hands.
For reasons that are inexplicable, Whitner simply dropped the ball in midair … and the pass fell into the inviting arms of St. Louis tight end Jared Cook for a catch.
The Rams lead the 1-2 49ers early in the second quarter, 3-0.
