Drew Brees Got Suplexed by Captain Munnerlyn
By Michael Shamburger
Drew Brees got suplexed by Minnesota’s Captain Munnerlyn, and briefly, it looked like the Saints would have to punt in a surprisingly close game in the 3rd quarter.
But no.
The NFL protects QBs, so Munneryln was called for “unnecessary roughness” on the play, and the Saints drive was extended. It probably helped his cause that Brees flipped out after the sack, pushing and chasing Munnerlyn.
That’s a pretty bad call. Naturally, the Saints ended up scoring a TD on the drive to grab a 20-9 lead.
