Dwight Howard Will Sign With the Houston Rockets

Howard, 27, picked Houston over the Lakers, according to Sam Amick of USA Today Sports. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Earlier Friday, the Warriors took themselves out of the Howard sweepstakes by trading for Andre Iguodala; later, the Mavericks were notified they were not a finalist.

That left the Rockets and Lakers, and Howard decided he wanted to play with James Harden instead of Kobe Bryant. Daryl Morey – finally – did it!

So one year after he forced his way out of Orlando and was traded to the Lakers, the petulant Howard is on the move again. By leaving the Lakers, Howard left an estimated $30 million on the table, although when you factor in State taxes and other aspects of that deal, it’s probably only half that.

Olajuwon, Yao, and now Howard. The Dream produced two titles; Yao was a Global home run and Howard … to be determined.

The Rockets, depending on who they had to part with, should present a formidable team in the West.
