Eric Reid Tried to Tackle Mike Tolbert and Got Knocked Out
By Jason McIntyre
Mike Tolbert is one of the most bruising ball carriers in the NFL: A fire hydrant-like 5-foot-9 and 250 pounds, and the type of player who is impossible to get his arms around. Eric Reid, a San Francisco rookie from LSU, found this out the hard way Sunday when Tolbert took a shovel pass on 3rd down and Reid came up to make a tackle. He bounced off Tolbert and immediately went to the ground. Reid didn’t move, and appeared to be knocked out. Reid got up after a few minutes and left the field.
The 49ers lead early in the third quarter, 9-7.
